Careers - Distribution Centre Manager

Closing Date: December 1st, 2017
Location: Distribution Centre - Bathurst

The Eddy Group Limited Distribution Centre is seeking a Distribution Manager.

The following is a list of the duties and responsibilities of the Distribution Centre Manager. Additional tasks and responsibilities may be required as needed.

  • Plan and manage all product distribution activities as per standard operating policies
  • Provide assistance and necessary training to employees
  • Monitor performance and provide feedback for improvements
  • Create a layout plan that streamlines receiving, storage, and shipping of goods
  • Implements worker safety and health regulations
  • Analyze existing distribution procedures and recommend improvements
  • Plans projects and sets objectives for the employees to meet
  • Oversees product shipments to branches
  • Manage carriers ensuring trailers are available for shipping
  • Coordinates with branch managers regarding discrepancies and errors in the supply chain process
  • Manage the recruitment, hiring and termination process as needed.
  • Prepare budgets and manage expenses within budgets
  • JHSC employer representative

To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • English is a necessity; bilingualism an asset
  • Basic computer skills
  • Prior experience in the field of business, warehouse and operations management
  • Lifting will be required in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Management skills
  • Certified forklift operator
  • WHIMIS Certification
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and reasoning abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Well-versed in planning and project management
